Scandinavian seasons may come as a surprise to you...

Spring: A time of mixed emotions, especially as the weather jumps between sunny, rainy and darkness. Expect the parties to resume as the warmth does.

Summer: Believe it or not, Swedish summers are breathtaking, and hot. On that note, it may even come as a shock, particularly when adjusting to the long hours of sunlight.

Autumn: Blink and you miss it, expect about a month of classic autumnal colours at the very most, perhaps even less. After that it's going to get dark...

Winter: A season even the locals complain about. Expect heavy snow that won't budge, and only a few hours of sunlight a day. It's important to remain social during this season to avoid depression.

Advice from your future neighbor, remember to bring or invest in a warm jacket and a pair of snow friendly shoes (with fur inside and a proper sole for the ice). If you are coming for the Spring semester, you can buy them here. There is a nice outlet, Stadium, close to Campus (Välsviken), where you will find all you need. Otherwise, bring something already with you!
